Call from Pat Hart- yesterday 4/1/09

On 3/31/09 I sent a revised release to Pat that Ned had written. Pat contacted me to advise that their Lawyers would not accept any revisions to the second release that we received from American (in the amount of $7,941.62).

I sent a note to Ned asking whether we should now pursue this through our Homeowner's policy.

Living in a mess

The work is still in full swing. We can't find our camera right now... actually we can't find quite a bit right now as we are now restricted to living in our bedroom and living room.

The kitchen doesn't have a floor at the moment. It is all post and beam structure. Hopefully today we will have decking in place. We also don't have a means of showering at this point either. We will hopefully get something back early next week.

The addition is on and the wall has been torn out in between. All kitchen cabinets have been removed. The wall separating the kitchen and pantry area is currently gone while they repair the floor structure. There was a slope of 4 inches over 20 feet or so that is now gone! Everything will be level in that area of the house.

At the last minute we added modifying the downstairs bathroom to make it accessible for Barb so that bathroom is also torn up and will be getting a walk in shower. The shower pan and tile go in today there.

We also hav plumbing inspections today and the inspection for drilling the holes to attach the house properly to the foundation.

Lots of work being done. Lots of dust. Lots of inconvenience.... but it will be worth it in the end to have our house back in working order.

Water Bureau Development Supervisor - Maree More

Spoke with Maree More today about our refund due on our water permit which is about $7,404.00 The City policy is to only refund to the person who wrote the check. Deb faxed to Maree a copy of our CCB award and a copy of our e-check to Jeremy that documents we were providing funds for our water permit.

Maree called today to let me know that she had referred our documentation on to the Legal Department and would get back with us on what she finds out from the Legal Dept. I informed her that we also were due some funds on the other permits- maybe a $100 or so, and that she should let the legal group know that as well.

Rain Rain Go Away

The forecast for this week is rain - so depending on the weather we may or may not get trusses and roofing done this week. Anyway, the plan according to Scott today is the following:

Monday afternoon- Install wallboard in bathroom and finish up as much as possible. Watch the weather and hope that a break will work for truss delivery tomorrow

Tuesday, 3/17- Install trusses

Let to do would be to put up the framing for the third side, install trusses and then get the roofing up.

Wow- what a process! What progress!

I will try to upload some pictures this weekend. The progress on the addition has been amazing. Scott has had his crew at the house every day this week and usually 2-3 guys onsite. He has also had out the plumber and the heating/cooling guys. We now have a fully floored addition with two walls up - the third will go up when the trusses go up later this week. In addition we have our tub connected upstairs, plumbing repairs completed and a new washer/dryer hookup.

The crew is usually at the house by 7:30 or 8:00 and is frequently still working at 6 p.m. - wrapping up the day.

Message from Bob- CCB ext. 4018

Earlier today I left a message for Bob at the CCB to find out why the bond amount on our case is only $15k and why Jeremy hasn't lost his license yet... Below is his voice mail response:

The Analyst of the case determined which license to file against. The case was filed against 167950, the non LLC, and the license that has a $15k bond. If in fact we win the hearing and receive a final order, Jeremy must clear up the full amount before he can have a license.
