Thursday, June 26

No workers showed again today. Cate called Jeremy and spoke to him.

Jeremy stated that because he has no $$ to pay his guys he cannot do work and that he will be giving us a work order next week outlining what he wants us to pay to finish the job.

On advice of Ned we invited Jeremy to meet with us and our attorney at the firm. Jeremy has not responded.

Wednesday, June 25

Even though Jeremy promised workers. No workers showed.

June 23, 2008 Call from Jeremy

Jeremy is planning on starting on Wednesday, June 25th at the house. He indicated that he will be pulling the roof and some of the tresses and plans to have the roof open for a week to a week and a half. His best estimate was that the I beam install would happen next week. Once he gets in the attic and has the roof open he indicated he would have a better idea of the length of time. He asked that the attic be cleaned out and I let him know that is is cleaned out at this point.

He also indicated that we would want to be out of the house starting next week sometime.

Lastly, Jeremy asked if he could have some additional money so that he could pay his guys. I told him we could talk about this on Friday. I wish we could stall until Larry could see the job- I want the house done and if it means paying some additional funds then so be it - but I want a lawyer to write up the contract in order to get it finished. I will update the blog.

June 11, Call with Randall

Spoke to Randall he said that they are waiting until next week so that they have a full run at the project.  I mentioned the fact that there might be rain in the forecast.  Randall stated that if there is rain in the forecast that it would delay the removal of the roof.

I asked Randall about the I-Beam and whether it had in fact been ordered yet.  He said it had been ordered when they ordered the entire lumber package.  When I stated that when we called yesterday about the I-Beam that it had not in fact been ordered.  He said that it had been ordered when they placed the lumber package order.  Randall indicated that all they have to do is call for the I-Beam delivery.

I told him I would speak to Jeremy about this further since he didn’t seem to have any answers.

Pacific Truss conversation from. Phillipines

Today I spoke with Mary in Accounting at. Pacific Truss and. Lumber (PTL) about whether the account had Ben paid by Jeremy. She indicated that the account is on credit hold still and that no payment had been made nor had any additional parts been placed on order specifically the I beam. This is important to note because Jeremy had indicated that the I beam was on order and this account had been taken care of. Mart reconfirmed that 70 days from the last delivery on May 21st 2008 a lien could get placed if the account had not been taken care of

During a telecon with Jeremy last Thursday Jeremy indicated that his crew would be back at our house on Friday to fix the framing that is incorrect and also to clean up the back yard. I called Jeremy today from the Phillipines and left a message. Deb also has been in daily phone contact but has not received a return call from Jeremy. She was able to reach Randall who told her that he would be at our house on Tuesday. As of this time there has been no show and no return phone calls
This email is sent from my Blackberry. My apologies for my misthumbings.

Monday, June 9, 2008

Following phone call from Jeremy on Thursday he said that workers would be there Monday and Tuesday this week to clean up backyard.  He also said that he was looking for a window of three good days of weather to put in the I-Beam.  Also stressed that when we are told there will be workers and no show up that it really frustrates us.  He indicated that he would check in on a weekly basis to give us an idea of project status for the following week.

As of 11:30 Monday no workers were present.  Called Jeremy at 12:21 PM asking on status of workers and whether he was planning on doing the beam on Wednesday since the forecast for those days is good.

Requested he call me back.  Left number.

Wednesday, June 4--Email from Cate re: call with Jeremy

He said that he can't come over on Thursday but he can do a telecon with us on Thursday at 6 p.m. So I scheduled that.

He indicated that the guys will be over on Thursday and Friday this week to fix the framing and to clean-up in the back yard. I explained to him that Tawnie has been unwilling to go in the back yard and is peeing in the house. I asked that we at least get a good area cleaned up so that she can use the back yard.

I also told Jeremy that this is causing us a great deal of stress and in the absence of information our only known solution is to go to the CCB. I told him that this is not our preferred method but if we don't lower the stress level (and get going on the project) this is what we will do.

Jeremy is looking for a window of 3 good weather days in order to install the I beam.

Thursday, June 5

No workers. Even though in Wednesday phone call Jeremy state that the guys would be here Thursday and Friday to fix the framing for the windows and clean up the back yard.

Jeremy was not very happy - but I got a call back. The I beam is now on order. He has agreed to call daily with a brief update on the progress and expectations. He indicated several times in the call that he is not making any money and that he is having to work other jobs to get the money together to finish this job. Too many over runs on the job. I told him I am not willing to talk about this part while I am at work- too volatile of a subject for me. He indicated that there were many things he had not planned for in the job:
1. Ibeam (cost is $1000- I confirmed)
2. Engineering overruns
3. Additional labor to jack-up the house and those kinds of things I did tell him we are to the point that we are going to call the CCB if this isn't finished.

I do think we are going to be "hand to mouth" until this job is complete. If he truly does call daily then that will help me live with this situation more easily than I am today.

A couple more things I forgot to put in this one...

1. He was not happy that I called his supplier. I reminded him that I do have the right to call given the lien process and that I know money is tight for him. I am not willing to have a lien put against our house.
2. I did tell him that had I not called this morning he would not have known that the I beam was not on order.
