We have a floor set on the foundation. Inspection to happen Tuesday.

Update on house

The inspector was here and they want a crawl space in the new addition area (which they didn't cut in).  So one of the guys came and got the plans and is figuring out where to put the crawlspace.  I don't really want a crawlspace in our new addition but I guess we don't really get the say.  It makes sense since the existing foundation restricts that area.

Crew was there and worked on getting the flooring braces and supports in.

Called and left message with Jeremy this morning re: what the issue is with getting his crew and materials to house to continue work.

Lumber was delivered to house that afternoon. Crew unloaded lumber.

Lumber did not arrive. No call from Jeremy.

Friday, April 18, 2008

Crew was supposed to bring lumber yesterday.

Cate spoke to Jeremy he stated that the lumber truck could not fit into the back alley so he had to move the lumber in with his pick up truck.

Monday the crew is supposed to arrive with lumber and start framing.

April 17, 2008

No workers today.

Jeremy had stated that part of lumber package was to arrive Thursday.

April 16, 2008

Today the crew showed up around 1:30 and moved dirt.

April 10 - 14, 2008

No work done on house.

Left message Thursday, April 10 with Jeremy asking about timeline and about the flooring in kitchen and whether we could put something down over it.

No return call.

April 15, 2008

Talked to Jeremy he stated that the plan was to hopefully get his guys out on Wednesday to move the dirt from the yard. He wants to have all the dirt moved out before the lumber is delivered on Thursday.

No workers at house today.

Called and left message with Jeremy re: upcoming homestudy and whether the flooring in kitchen and closet could be repaired.

Also inquired about whether framing would start next week.

No one came and worked today.

Jeremy and crew were here in the am today and removed dirt.

Called Jeremy around 8 am. He answered. Asked him what the status was and he said his guys were on their way to move the dirt and should arrive shortly.

He stated that he would be getting the lumber package in sections and that he had not ordered the trusses yet.

The crew (3 guys) worked from 9 - 11:30 and then returned around 3 and took another load of dirt.

I am starting to Blog our remodel to document the progress or lack of progress on the project.

We had been sitting for a week waiting to hear from our contractor Jeremy. We had left several voice mail messages asking for a status since we had heard or seen no movement since paying an additional $17,000 to keep the project moving.

We were very dissatisfied and sent a letter on Friday to his address outlining our concerns. I will post the letter in another post.

Today the workers showed up around 9 am to move dirt. They moved what I think is two loads and left around 11:30 ish and did not return the rest of the afternoon.
